CROSS-BORDER SUPPLY

Cross-border sintered stone supply from Jakarta

Short answer: material can be supplied from Jakarta to buyers in Southeast Asia, quoted per shipment. There is no ALTARA warehouse, stock or installation team outside Indonesia, so freight, clearance and local fabrication are arranged on the buyer's side.

Cross-border orders are quoted per shipment. Nothing in this table implies local stock, a local showroom or an installation team.

Why the answer is the same for every market

Sintered stone is a heavy, fragile, low-value-per-cubic-metre product, so the economics of a cross-border order are driven by freight and packing rather than by the material alone. That is why the honest answer for Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei and Timor-Leste is the same: we can quote supply from Jakarta, and the buyer arranges import and local work.

What changes between markets is the shipping route, the clearance formalities and the local cost of fabrication. Those are handled by a forwarder and a fabricator in the destination country, and they should be priced before the material is ordered, not after it lands.

What to send for a cross-border quotation

Send the pattern reference, the slab format and thickness, the number of slabs, the destination port or city, and the date you need the material on site. Add the cutting plan if you have one, because the slab count drives both the material cost and the freight volume.

State the incoterm you want quoted. Ex-works, FOB and CIF produce very different totals, and comparing a CIF quote from one supplier with an ex-works quote from another is a common way to overpay while believing you saved.

Customs, duties and taxes

Duties and taxes are assessed by the destination customs authority and are normally borne by the importer of record. Ask for a quotation that separates material, freight, insurance and clearance, so the landed cost is visible before you commit. A single all-in figure hides which part is negotiable.

Some markets require an importer of record with a local tax number. If you do not have one, a forwarder can usually act as the consignee, but that arrangement needs to be agreed before shipment, not at the port.

Samples before an overseas order

Order a sample or review the actual slabs at the gallery before committing to a container. Colour and vein movement vary between batches, and a screen is not a reference. For remote buyers we can send photographs or video of the specific slabs reserved for the order, with scale, before they are packed.

Local fabrication is the part that decides the result

A good slab installed badly looks worse than an average slab installed well. Before ordering, find the fabricator who will cut and install, confirm they have worked with sintered stone, and ask how they handle mitred edges, cut-outs and joint layout. That conversation should happen before the material ships, because the cutting plan is what the slab count is based on.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers for buyers comparing suppliers and projects.

Can ALTARA ship sintered stone to my country?

Material can be quoted from Jakarta to destinations in Southeast Asia. Send the destination, format, quantity and required date, and the shipment is quoted case by case. There is no local stock or installation team outside Indonesia.

Who pays import duties and customs charges?

The importer of record, assessed by the destination customs authority. Ask for a quotation that separates material, freight, insurance and clearance so the landed cost is clear.

Can I review samples before placing an overseas order?

Yes. Samples and full slabs can be reviewed in Jakarta, and photographs or video of the reserved slabs can be sent with scale before packing. Confirm the pattern on the physical material, not on a screen.

Which markets do you quote for?

Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei and Timor-Leste are quoted per shipment. Other destinations can be checked on request, subject to freight availability.

How is the price calculated for an export order?

Material by slab and format, plus packing, freight, insurance and any clearance support. The incoterm decides which of those are included, so always quote and compare on the same incoterm.

Do you have a showroom in Malaysia or Singapore?

No. The only gallery is in Jakarta Barat. Buyers in other countries either visit Jakarta or work from samples and photographs.

Can you recommend a fabricator abroad?

We can explain what to ask a fabricator, but we do not appoint or guarantee third parties in other countries. The buyer or the local contractor appoints them.

What is the minimum order for export?

There is no fixed minimum published, because freight dominates small shipments. Send the quantity you need and the destination, and the quotation will show whether the volume carries the freight.
