The five components of a price
Material. Thickness, format and pattern determine the slab cost. Bookmatch pairs cost more because two slabs are matched from production.
Wastage. A layout that cuts across veining consumes more slab than the room area suggests. This is why area alone does not predict cost.
Fabrication. Cut-outs, mitred edges, waterfall ends and polishing are priced against the drawing.
Delivery. Jakarta delivery differs from freight to Medan, Makassar or Bali, especially for full slabs requiring handling equipment.
Installation. Quoted separately, against site conditions and scope.
Why a per-square-metre figure is only a starting point
A rate per square metre can tell you the order of magnitude. It cannot tell you the number of slabs a kitchen consumes, whether a bookmatch pair is needed, or what the edge detail costs. Those three items usually move the final number more than the rate itself.
How to compare two quotes fairly
Check the slab count, the pattern and finish specified, what fabrication is included, whether delivery is to site or kerbside, and whether installation is in scope. Quotes that look different often differ on these five points rather than on material quality.
